MEX Quality Engineer

Department: Quality Assurance
Location: San Luis Potosi, S.L.P, C.P, Mexico

Quality Engineer

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Quality Manager this position develops, maintains, and improves all aspects of G&W’s quality program as it relates to production operations. This includes but not limited to shop floor problem solving, root cause analysis, FMEA, NCR’s, Control Plans, and Supplier issue management. Additionally, this position will develop ISO auditing and supplier quality along with APQP process skills for career growth.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and monitoring of quality tools established in the IMS.
  • Documentation, analysis, and follow on problem solving.
  • Monitoring and support of department indicators and other processes.
  • Establishing, documenting, and improving documented information from the IMS (manuals, procedures, instructions, forms, etc.).
  • Establishing inspection criteria applicable to products, processes, or services.
  • Monitoring and following up on the results of internal, external, or product audits.
  • Quality control measures for processes, products, and materials within the plant.
  • Issuing and managing quality alerts and process deviations.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

  • 3 -5 years experience
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards (e.g., ISO 9001,ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Kwnoledge in LAPEM requeriments is a plus
  • Proven experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficient in using quality management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Green belt, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of NOMS.
  • Knowledge of contingency plans.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:

  • General Office Environment, PC use
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Light Lifting (occasional 11kg or less)
  • Stooping
  • Standing
